Until the movement of the earth's tectonic plates, slate was just shale or humble mudstone. The enormous pressures involved in this shift then changed slate forever. These titanic forces realigned the minerals, mica and chlorite contained within the deposits, forming smooth flat layers. As it is so predisposed to forming layers, slate is a natural as a floor covering.

Each slate has a unique depth, and Amazon Green is no exception. It has greys and greens and darker elements, and an uneven riven surface that adds yet more to its complex character. In four different sizes, it will look good on its own on both walls and floors (internal and external), but it can also be contrasted with mosaics or tumbled marble to great effect.
